“The management begs to announce that Miss Lydia Thompson has decided upon producing, on Monday May 9, the celebrated new Drama, MOSQUITO, in an entirely remodeled and reconstructed form, following accurately the original plot, as furnished by M. Dumas, pere [sic], to Miss Thompson, in place of the translation which has hitherto been presented.
“In the new version MOSQUITO will prove the most thrilling and effective drama of the day.”
Thompson offers “Dumas’ own version of ‘Mosquito’…instead of the miserable translation palmed off on her before. The original is said to be very effective.”
The revised version of Mosquito is “a vast improvement upon the original production.”
“‘Mosquito,’ at Niblo’s Garden, has been given in a somewhat new guise this week. A version of the French original made by Miss Thompson herself, has been substituted for the version acted last week.”
