“Jenny Benson took her farewell benefit at this house on the 20th inst., and had quite a large attendance. She met with a hearty reception. In her last act of Irish songs and dances she was encored five times, and such a general outburst of applause as was given her for a farewell is seldom heard in that house. She was compelled to come to the footlights, after answering five encores, and beg to be excused as she was tired out.”
