“Mr. JEROME HOPKINS’ second Orpheon Fund Concert, with part of the title of which the types took an unwarranted liberty on Wednesday, was given at Association Hall yesterday afternoon. Mr. HOPKINS supplied the music, and played BEETHOVEN’S ‘Moonlight Sonata,’ GOTTSCHALK’S ‘Morte,’ and several other pieces selected by the audience from a programme of 100 placed in the spectators’ hands. We sincerely wish that our most eminent artists would emulate Mr. HOPKINS’ example in this respect. The slight acquaintance of local audiences with modern music could be enlarged in  more speedy way.”
