“Last evening Miss Henrietta Beebe gave the first of her soirées musicales at Chickering Hall. She was received in a flattering manner by a fashionable audience. Her only solo, the ‘Jewel Song’ from ‘Faust,’ gained her a prompt encore, which she responded to with a popular ballad.”
