“The first of a very promising series of organ recitals and vocal church music in aid of the House of Rest for Consumptives, drew together a select and quite numerous audience at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, last evening. It is a noble charity, and deserves a warm support, which it will undoubtedly receive.

The programme was very pleasingly interpreted by Miss Sterling, Miss La Sar, Mr. S. P. Warren, and Messrs. Rockwood, David Camp and Moxon. To their efforts the architectural beauties of the church in which the recital was given added an artistic surrounding.

The recital was conducted by Mr. Charles S. Fischer, Jr., the choirmaster of the church.”
