“There was an interesting rehearsal by the Philharmonic orchestra at the Academy of Music yesterday afternoon. The features of the programme, the “Idomeneo’ overture by Mozart, and the ‘Carnival Romain’ of Berlioz, were listened to with pleasure.A new vocalist, Miss Fiset, also appeared.”

“There was an excellent house yesterday at the Philharmonic rehearsal. The orchestra selections were [see above]. Although this was only a first rehearsal, a vocalist was introduced—Miss L. M. Fiset. She is a young lady whose voice is suitable for a smaller hall and whose culture might answer for a concert of modest pretensions; but at the performances of the Philharmonic Society we want nothing but the best.”
