“Flotow’s light but very pretty opera of ‘Stradella’ was played on Saturday evening with considerable spirit. Madame Lichtmay, whom our German fellow citizens want to hear about seven or eight times a week, was not in the cast; but Miss Minnie Kuhn did tolerably in the leading role, and both the popular tenors, Habelmann and Bernard, were there, as well as Carl Formes. The last-named gentleman was in excellent voice, and performed his part with the vigor and [action?] for which he is deservedly famous.”
