“How long Mr. Fisk is going to run his opéra bouffe company, and what he will do after them, is a sealed secret. They alternate the three Offenbachian pieces—‘Les Brigands,’ ‘Barbe Bleue’ and ‘La Grande Duchesse’—at his Grand Opera House to comparatively little purpose. Next Wednesday Bateman’s great success, ‘Perichole,’ will be revived; but when Irma and Aujac are away, what can it do? So much for sending an unreliable agent over to Europe to manage one’s business and make engagements.”
