“At the matinée Miss Kellogg sang the delightful polonaise from ‘Mignon’ with such an electrical effect that an enthusiastic encore was the consequence. She responded with the coquettish Irish air, ‘Pretty Girl Milking her Cow,’ which was a real gem.”

“We have now the pleasure of noting a grand success for the entertainments yesterday, at the Academy of Music. Both the matinée and the evening performances were highly remunerative, and yield $5,000.”

Review: New-York Daily Tribune, 23 January 1871, 8.

“The performance commenced with certain choice musical selections, admirably rendered by Mr. A. Reiff and an orchestra assembled and drilled by him…Mr. Wehli’s piano solo came next and exhibited the masterly execution of an artist. Mr. Alberto Lawrence sang, in a powerful and pleasing way, the romance, ‘La Stella Confidante.’…Signor Randolfi then gave Gottschalk’s song of ‘The Loving Heart,’ and woke the echoes of bounteous applause…At a later period Signor Randolfi sang again. The accompanist was Mr. Reiff. The great musical incident of the occasion, however, was Miss Kellogg’s song, from Ambroise Thomas’ ‘Mignon,’ which was executed with delicious freedom and birdlike freshness. A tumult of applause rewarded Miss Kellogg, and, on being called out, she sang the simple Irish ballad of ‘The Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow,’ and sang it with spirited and tender effect. Mr. George W. Colby acted as accompanist.” “One of the pleasing and touching incidents of Saturday afternoon was the introduction of the music of ‘Auld Lang Syne,’ very sweetly played by Mr. Reiff and his orchestra, and reminiscent of the departed comedian in whose honor the performance was given.”
