“The second week of the Fabbri German opera opened last night with Mozart’s chef d’oeuvre before a fairly filled house. The cast was the same as at the Stadt Threatre [see above]. Mme. Fabbri and Müller repeated the success they achieved in the Bowery, and Mlle. Rosetti sang her selections admirably. Mlle. Elzer, in spite of a sudden and most terrible attack of illness, did wonderfully well, and gave evidence of becoming one of the best artists on the operatic stage. The fortitude with which she bore up from beginning to end against the most adverse circumstances was a proof of her great abilities as an artist. ‘A Night in Granada’ will be presented this evening. We would advise the management to attend a little more to the ensemble, for at present it is simply atrocious.”
