“Charles Horncastle and Signor John Fenich, both tenor vocalists, were added to Emerson’s Minstrels on Sept. 30th. The former sang ‘When the Corn is Waving, Annie,’ with good effect, his voice and method being excellent. The latter sang, in the Italian language, an aria from ‘Martha,’ which was rapturously encored. He is an artist of great merit, and the only drawback to his performances is the nasal twang discernable in his very high notes.”
