“Philharmonic rehearsal. Like the Raff symphony a little better (no. 4 in G minor). Miss Anna Drasdil sang Haydn’s ‘Spirit song’ & five other things, with fine rich voice & good method, but her selections were too lugubrious. Herr Benno Walter did the first movement of Beethoven’s beautiful violin concerto (op. 61) very brilliantly, & we had the Berlioz ‘Lieber-scene’ & the Beethoven overture. Meeting of directors afterwards.”
