“‘Lucrezia Borgia’ was repeated at the Academy of Music yesterday afternoon, by Signori Campanini and Nannetti, and Signore Maresi and Cary. The performance of Donizetti’s opera by these artists on Wednesday was duly noticed in these columns, and we have only now to say in relation to yesterday’s recital, that there was a great deal of applause—a very rare article, be it observed, at a matinée—and that the delicious quality of Signor Campanini’s voice, and the excellence sof [sic] his style, were, if anything, more apparent than on the night of his début.”
