“…Miss Pieris, who has a sweet, powerful voice of great compass and purity of tone, and which is well cultivated, instantaneously gained the favor of the audience. Her selections evinced good taste, and she may be pronounced one of the best serio-comic vocalists that have appeared upon the variety stage in this city. She was attired in a charming toilet of pink silk, profusely trimmed with lace, with an overdress of striped silk. The Foy Sisters are pleasing singers, and deserve commendation for the performances of their musical sketches. Foley and Wade are excellent song-and-dance men…Jerry Barrington, who has a sweet, melodious tenor voice, sang with much effect ‘Hard Times Come Again No More’…A good, steady business has been done.”
