“Prince Sadi d’Jalma performed his new and original act entitled ‘Violin Solo Comique, or the Enchanged Music-stand.’ A trick music-stand was placed upon the stage, and near it a wooden platform covered with carpet. D’Jalma performed a few bars of music, when the top of the music-stand was elevated in the air as seen in pantomime. A wide ladder was brought, which d’Jalma mounted, and, while standing on the top round save one, performed a number of equilibristic feats in a clever manner, and finally repeated on the violin the bars of music at first played by him…Delehanty and Hengler have elaborated their new sketch called ‘Fun in a Kitchen,’ which is a sort of burlesque upon one of the specialties of the Vokes Family and it is now one of their most effective acts. They do a number of lively songs-and-dances, a duet with the bones, and sing a burlesque on the miserere from ‘Il Trovatore.’…An excellent business has been done, and it would seem that the enterprise and liberality of the management will make this experiment successful.”
