“The reader may be reminded that during this month are formed the free singing classes of the Orpheon Choral Society, an institution founded by Mr. Jerome Hopkins a dozen years ago for the special instruction in vocal music of young persons gifted, but poor. The Trustees have secured for the use of the society the new building known as the Alexander Mission, Nos. 7 and 9 King street. The sessions occur on Wednesday afternoons and evenings.”
