Review: New York Clipper, 07 March 1874, 390.

“Little Minnie Maddern, a young miss of precocious talent, was the only addition to the forces at the Olympic Theatre since our last report. She sang character songs, with rapid changes of costume, which elicited liberal applause. She first appeared, attired like a lady of the period, in a rich toilet en train of light-blue silk, profusely trimmed with lace; next, as a Dutch girl; and then in a white toilet adapted to her own age. Her voice is quite powerful. She sings well, and seems to thoroughly understand the words she is uttering, as she delivers them with piquant effect…Average attendance excellent.”
