“…Signor R. Abecco performed a number of difficult airs on the harp, with which instrument it was evident his auditors were not familiar; but they gave audible expression to their delight. The fine tenor voice of the artist was likewise heard to advantage. Sanford and Wilson, hitherto reviewed, gave their musical specialties. Miss Maggie Bowers, who has a pleasing face, a musical voice, and was tastily attired, gave satisfaction in serio-comic songs. Lester and Allen sustained their reputation in acrobatic songs-and-dances. Johnny Allen and Clara Butler gave Dutch duets…J. W. Sharpley skillfully manupilated the concertina…” Treasurer Harry Sanderson’s benefit on Thursday afternoon.
