“THE UNION SQUARE THEATRE TO THE PUBLIC.

The New-York Herald, after grossly maligning this Theatre and its company during the present performances of ‘Led Astray’ in its dramatic columns, has refused to insert our advertisements because they were not of equal length with those given by us to other newspapers. The undersigned feel bound, in the name of decency and fair dealing, to resist this attempt to coerce them into paying a large weekly tribute to a newspaper which persistently and maliciously abuses their establishment; and they respectfully notify the public that hereafter the UNION SQUARE THEATRE advertisements will not appear in the New York Herald. SHERIDAN SHOOK, A. M. PALMER.”
