“Mr. Humphreys, a church singer of repute, gave a concert at Steinway Hall on Saturday night, at which he was assisted by a great number of our best resident artists. Mrs. Gulager and Miss Drasdil sang with special acceptation, and were loudly applauded and encored. Miss Liebe played the violin with skill. And Mr. Morgan, in his ‘Sad Sea Waves,’ made all that was possible out of the Steinway Hall organ. Other artists also did well, and the concert was altogether a very pleasant affair for Mr. Humphreys, who is going abroad to study.”
