Review: New-York Times, 18 April 1874, 4.

“This accomplished artist, though for some weeks suffering from sore throat, has been doing much excellent vocal work. Yesterday afternoon she sang at the Philharmonic rehearsal, before an audience which, despite the wretched weather, was about as large as the Academy of Music could contain. Her rendering of Beethoven’s Ah! Perfido showed musicianly skill and an appreciation of the composer’s meaning. In the first aria of Isabella in ‘Robert le diable’ she awakened the warmest enthusiasm by her finished phrasing and graceful execution.”
