“Emma Day, who made her first appearance in America, proved to be a good serio-comic vocalist. She has a good and well-trained voice, a handsome face, and a rather stout figure. She has much vivacity, was elegantly costumed, and her singing of three fresh songs was heartily applauded…James Gaynor created much merriment by singing comical Ethiopian ditties and playing an accompaniment upon the banjo. Wayne and Lovely in acrobatic songs-and-dances, and later in the evening in a double essence, filled out the bill. An excellent business was done.”
