Review: New York Herald, 14 October 1874, 7.

“Mme. Salvotti, a true prima donna dramatica, sang in the trio from ‘Attila,’ an aria from ‘Forza del Destino’ and in the quartet from ‘Martha.’ Her voice, full toned and surcharged with passionate expression, gave effect to everything she essayed. Mme. Salvotti has long held a prominent and deservedly proud position in concert in this city. Mr. Pease, a graceful and brilliant piano player, rendered two of his finest transcriptions, ‘Mignon, and ‘Crispino’ with that crispness of tone, ease of execution and entire clearness of rendering that might be expected from such a thorough artist.”
