“On Saturday afternoon the tenth concert of the present popular series was given at Association Hall. Miss Rosa McGeachy sang a song from Verdi’s ‘Aida,’ in which the excellence of her voice and her want of adequate training were made equally apparent. Mr. J. R. Thomas, the celebrated ballad writer, appeared, and sang in a most agreeable unaffected manner songs which, though not technically elaborate or demanding great vocal powers, were the means of exhibiting his refined artistic talent and special gifts. Mr. Karl Walter played some solos on the piano forte in a most creditable manner. There was not a large attendance, but the audience though small, was very encouraging to the performers.”
