“’Orpheus in der Underwelt’ (‘Orphée aux enfers’) was produced last evening to a fair audience at the Stadt Theatre. The opera is one of the most farcical Offenbach has written, is very popular in Germany and was favorably received. Miss Lina Mayr as Eurydice sang and acted with commendable spirit and expression and invested her rôle with that exuberance of fun demanded by Offenbach’s creations.”
