Announcement: New-York Times, 07 September 1863.

“The Philharmonic Society has resolved on abandoning Irving Hall, and will return this Winter to the Academy of Music.  Every one, except the professional members, will regret this change.  The orchestra of the Society was heard to the greatest advantage in the Hall, where, also solo artists had a chance.  Pecuniary reasons are in favor of the Academy, and hence a change that every lover of music will regret.”
