“A Requiem – Mozart’s – was performed at the Church of St. Francis Xavier yesterday morning, under the direction of the celebrated organist, Mr. Berge. The principal singers were Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Berge, Mrs. Poud, Mrs. Johnston, Miss. Hutchings, Mr. Dulcos, Wernecke, and Mr. C. Berge. It was “given with great effect, and listened to with profound emotion. It was in memory of the late Archbishop, and the ceremonies were of the most solemn kind. The church was crowded to excess.”
