Doesn’t give specific date, only refers to performances from this week. “The English Opera played at Niblo’s by the Richings troupe deserves special attention. Donizetti’s ‘Linda di Chamounix’ was given last week, Caroline Richings singing all the music of the part, with such grace and brilliancy as make one regret that she cannot be heard in it at the Academy of Music, supported by artists worthy of herself. We have so often complimented the admirable vocalization of this lady, that we need only repeat here our advice to those who admire Italian music in English dress to hear Miss Richings in any of the operas to be played at Niblo’s. Her singing can perhaps be better appreciated because, with the exception of Mr. Seguin, none of the other singers can for a moment distract the attention from the Linda, or the Marie, or the Amina of the evening, as the case may be.”
