“Mr. Jas. W. Wallack has, in the promptest and handsomest manner, offered all the resources of his establishment. . . . James W. Wallack proposes to pay over THE WHOLE OF THE RECEIPTS of the Theatre on that evening.”
“[R]esulted in a net profit to the Sanitary Commission of $904.25, which Mr. Wallack has handed over to the Treasurer of the Metropolitan Fair.”
“The benefit in aid of the fund of the Sanitary Commission, given by Mr. Wallack at this theatre on the 2nd inst., realized $904.25, that being the amount of the entire receipts. As there were extra inducements held out for a large attendance, we should take this sum as the cash capacity of Wallack’s house. We trust that others will follow the excellent example set them by the veteran manager.”
