“Robert le Diable was received last night with no dimunition of favor or applause. Medori was as grand as ever in Alice.  Brignoli was even more brilliant than usual, especially in the Sicilienne, which he sang exquisitely, and was very warmly applauded, but not more cordially than he deserved; for he has rarely sung it with so much fervor and purity.”
