“Mlle Eugenie Barnetche, whose great talent as a pianist has been upheld by so many admirers in New York, gives a concert at Niblo's tonight. She has secured the cooperation of Mme d'Angri and of Mm. Villanova, Mollenhauer and Abella. Praise for Mlle Barnetche has been given more than once in this publication; we don't have to repeat our appreciation. If ever an artist merited the encouragement and the sympathy of the public, it's Mlle Barnetche. We will not repeat here Gottschalk's word, according to whom Mlle Barnetche is the greatest pianist to be found in America, the only one who measures up to him, without seeing the least difference in talent. Thus we predict the most dazzling and substantial success for Mlle Barnetche."

If ever an artist merited the encouragement and sympathy of the public, it is Mlle Barnetche.  We will not repeat here the words of Gottschalk, after whom Mlle Bartnetche is the greatest pianist in America.
