The Park Concerts.  “The usual afternoon concert in the Park was yesterday as well attended as is customary on Saturday, in spite of the heat of the weather, which was intense until about six o’clock, when a pleasant breeze sprang up.  The music was, as usual, well selected and performed, several pieces being loudly applauded.  Among the visitors we noticed many schools, including the Hebrew Orphan Asylum and the Union School for soldiers’ children.”

“In spite of the intense heat on Saturday afternoon, the usual crowd attended the performance of Dodworth’s band at the Central Park.  Several of the pieces performed were loudly applauded, and altogether the selections and performance of the music sustained the repute which has been won by these Saturday afternoon gatherings.  The Hebrew Orphan Asylum, and the Union School for Soldiers’ Children, and several other schools, were present during the performance.”
