Very brief mention.  “Lucille Western still draws crowded houses at Niblo’s.”

“People actually went to Niblo’s last week to escape from the heat—a fact.  The theatre was crowded during all that fearful week, astonishing as it may seem.  Monday evening, August 8th, Miss Western produced her version of the sensation drama of ‘East Lynne,’ herself as Lady Isabel. . . . On Friday evening, August 12th, one of the ‘most warmest’ nights of the week, there was a jam at Niblo’s—yes, a regular squeeze—with the thermometer outside at 90 and upwards.”
