“Mr. Heller has established his reputation as the best magician and one of the best musicians in the country. It is difficult to tell which attracts most people to his hall, the works of the diable or (to borrow a Winter Garden expression of last Saturday) the works of “B. Toven.” Heller’s great magical feat, just now, is accomplished through the medium of what he calls a “Scarlet Spirit”—the said Spirit being in fact a human being gifted apparently with the quality of being dagger proof.”
