“The chirping of the merry little Maggie Mitchell is still heard within those walls which surround the imaginary Niblo’s Garden. “Fanchon, the Cricket,” has entrenched itself firmly at Niblo’s; and, with the comfortable little Margaret to lead the forces therein, promises to take captive, bushels of the compound interest bills. We have suffered a great deal in the enjoyment of the beauties of “Fanchon;” suffered because we have had to squeeze ourself [sic] into very close quarters in our futile efforts to secure a permanent footing for our physical structure. The fragile Maggie will repeat her Cricket play this week, and we have no doubt she will score a large innings.”
