“Mrs. John Wood has secured a treasure in her engagement of Mr. W. Holston, an English actor, who came to this city last summer. . . .Craven’s comic drama of “Milky White”—a name which signifies nothing—introduced Mr. Holston in the character of an old dairyman, Daniel White, nicknamed Milky White.”

Review: New York Clipper, 03 December 1864, 270.
“At the Olympic last week, the chief attraction was a new and original drama, in two acts, by H.T. Craven, Esq. (author of the “Chimney Corner”), entitled “Milk White.” There is a home feeling about the drama, and we are led at once to believe that the characters are drawn from life. . . .[Myers] sang the ballad of Early Love with sweetness and feeling. “Milky White” may, in our opinion, be considered as worth ‘to be continued.’”
