Announcement: New-York Times, 25 December 1864, 1.

“The great feature of the music, however, will be the Anthem, which has been selected from the Messiah.  It will open with two solos by Mr. Geo. S. Weeks, the principal tenor—thet words being ‘Comfort ye my people,’ and ‘Every valley shall be exalted.’  It will close with a grand chorus on the words, ‘And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed.’

Review: New York Sun, 26 December 1864, 4.

“The music yesterday was of a high order.  Dr. Cutler presided at the small organ in the chapel, and his assistant at the great one in the organ loft.  The Venite was sung to a chant by Woodward.  The proper Psalms for the day (19th, 45th, and 85th), were sung antiphonally by the choristers, and the services Jubilate and Te Deum, by Kempton were sung in B-flat.  The anthem was that beautiful one from the Messiah, ‘Comfort ye my people,’ followed by the solo, ‘Every valley shall be exalted.’  A sermon appropriate to the day was preached by Rev. Dr. Vinon and the service closed with a grand chorus, ‘And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed.’”
