“By the by, there was a special meeting of T. C. Vestry yesterday afternoon at wh. I could not assist because of a previous engagement with School of Music.  Cutler, Mus. Doc. and organist was relieved from further duty.  Cause, unsubordination and overstaying leave of absence.  He has gone trotting some of the little chorister boys over the country in concert tours thereby tempting Scoffers to call Trinity choir ‘Cutler’s Minstrels.’  I am glad we are rid of him, though he is undeniably an efficient Kapellmeister and drill sergeant.  It is hoped he will take all his rubbishy Services and Anthems away with him.”
