“Mrs. Wood, the ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ is wide awake in her new fairy spectacle, now in good running order at the Olympic.  The piece is brimful of good things, but the grand transformation scene – which is given as a dessert to the great dramatic feast, is probably the most gorgeous thing of the kind ever witnessed in this prolific show-town.  As one of our plebeian fellow citizens remarked the other evening after seeing the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ [illegible owing to fold in the page] the Olympic while the new spectacle is on.”
