ACADEMY OF MUSIC.--A very satisfactory performance of the ‘Africaine’ was witnessed last night by one of the largest audiences ever seen at the Academy.  The singers were in good voice, and the ensemble was excellent; and there was also a decided improvement in the chorus at the beginning of the third act.”
