“Wood’s Minstrels commence their regular fall and winter season this evening, with all the members of the old company and the addition of two new faces, in the persons of E. Haslam, one of the best Boehm flute players in the country, and Garratagui [sic], an excellent cornet soloist.  Wood’s Minstrels have ever been popular with the lovers of minstrelsy and with their present company, consisting as it does of such performers as Cool White, Frank Brower, S.S. Purdy and Glenn, and that excellent ballad singer C. Henry, as well as a capital quartet, there cannot be a doubt but what they will continue to hold the good opinion of the public. Last week business was excellent, and the company gave a good performance. A choice bill has been selected for this week, in which the company will appear to the best advantage.”
