“The Pantomime’s the thing for the holidays, and Tony Pastor, in offering his patrons for their Christmas fare his harlequinade of ‘The Demon’s Revel,’ could not have made a more appropriate selection.  In London, nearly every theatre, from the highest to the most humble, annually prepares its new Christmas pantomime, dressing it up in the most gorgeous style, and engaging the choicest clowns, acrobats, etc., to do full justice to the various parts.  Tony Pastor, at his Opera House, in the Bowery, has done the same for his patrons, and his holiday pantomime ought to attract crowded houses. . . . Miss Maggie Vernon, danseuse, steps forth this week for the first time at Pastor’s.”
