“Belvedere Park was quite as crowded yesterday as it is on Saturdays, and the programme of the third grand concert, as selected by Mr. Carl Bergmann, met with as much favor as its predecessors.  Meyerbeer, Donizetti, Wagner, Verdi, Auber and Gounod contributed their choicest operatic gems, and Strauss, Lumbye and Hamm furnished such reminiscences of the ballroom as to cause tiny feet, hidden under the tables, to trip to the sounds of waltz and gallop.  The orchestra was excellently disciplined, and executed the twelve morceaux on the bill as thoroughly proficient musicians only can interpret the works of a maestro.  The audience gathered to inhale the fresh breeze and listen to the music, composed as usual of a majority of our German citizens, with their families.  From the constantly increasing attendance of Gothamites, “to the manor born,” however, it is evident that Mr. Falk’s concerts are becoming more and more popular among our residents, and that ere long the vernacular will soon be as generally spoken at the Lion Park as the language of our Teutonic brethren.”
