The event was well attended despite the rainy weather conditions. The performance and the choice of program were excellent and clearly lived up to the “down-town concerts”. Elise Pfaffmann’s and Dora Ziegler’s vocal recitals were deservedly applauded endlessly. It is hard to find such skillful and confident voices among amateurs. Miss Anna Koch is a fabulous pianist. Once the attack and the technique of her hands harmonize more, she will be among the true masters of this instrument. Langenbach’s beautiful tenor was complimented by the masterly accompaniment on the cello and piano. Mollenhauer, the cellist, presented his solo with bravura also. The Lyra men’s chorus and the supporting Concordia and Erato choruses contributed to the whole. The conductors and the Germania Band deserve acknowledgement as well.
