Review: New-York Daily Tribune, 14 August 1866, 5.

"First representations at more pretentious houses are usually intolerable. The scenes do not work, and nobody seems to know what to do with himself. At the Museum yesterday there was scarcely a hitch in the scenery; while, for the most part, the players manifested that vivacity and never-flagging promptness, without which pantomime is always a bore.” Plot summaries of the two pantomimes are given. “The red gnome” was originally made familiar by the Ravels. “Children especially must find herein a real delight.”  Music not mentioned.
