Article on Pasquale Brignoli and Catarina Morensi's forthcoming return to the United States

     Mr. Brignoli and Mrs. Morensi are returning to the United States soon; might even be back already once this edition is published. Morensi’s return is no surprise. A native American, she was not very successful in London, yet enjoyed recognition and was respected in high society circles there. Brignoli, however, had hoped to go to Europe to be celebrated there, thus to show the Americans how wrong there were about not granting him the appropriate recognition. He traveled to Paris with Max Strakosch. Strakosch did not have the courage yet to hire Brignoli, however, he suggested to take him to Paris and have him perform with his sister-in-law Adelina Patti. Patti is currently at the height of her career. The beginning success of Brignoli waned soon and after he had performed in several small towns only once, he ended up doing only concerts. Now he is returning as a member of the Bateman ensemble. We welcome him and hope the experience in Europe has taught him not every artist can belong to the best.
