Announcement: New York Clipper, 28 July 1866, 126.

“The Buislay Family, in acknowledgement of the services of Mr. Wm. Post, the efficient officer of the New Bowery Theatre, have given that gentleman the use of the theatre for Saturday night, July 28th, when Mr. Post will take a benefit, and offer such a bill of attractions as is seldom given now-a-days.  Mr. Post is very popular in the profession as well as out of it, and many volunteers have already signified their intention to perform for him. Among the performers are included the Martinettis, Ethiopian comedians, gymnasts, actors and actresses, an immense drum corps, &c.; in fact, a little of all sorts will be on the programme.  Mr. Post has been connected with the theatres in the Bowery for a period of twenty-six years, and was for a long time a member of the volunteer Fire Department.”
