". . . . M. Prume, a violinist of the excellent Belgian school, was heard last week at Steinway Hall. M. Prume is a soloist of the first order, of a power that rivals Vieuxtemps, Alard and the greatest masters of the violin. It's a marvel to hear how he plays the Souvenir d'Haydn [sic] by Leonard. M. Prume, like all musicians who aren't German or Italian, had some trouble, they say, making his way in New York: he had to contend with shabby rivalries and against ridiculous prejudice. But let M. Prume succeed in exhibiting himself before a great audience, and he will easily triumph over all obstacles."
