German Opera.—Herr Anschutz will direct in December and January, at the Academy of Music, and perhaps give a few flying performances at one of our theaters, before a new well stocked German Opera company. The following artists have been engaged. Some will arrive immediately by the steamer Bavaria, others are already here:

We learn that some capital artists may be looked for The [sic] extraordinary talent of Mr. Anschutz as a director, are assurance that the musical enterprise will be artistically superintended. The prevalence of ‘the German element’ among us, and the respect for the eminent musical names of the fatherland must secure due attention, especially to the operas in the above list which have been yet unheard here.”
