“A very enjoyable and successful vocal concert was given at the Washington Heights Presbyterian Church on Thursday evening, Sept. 27, for the Manhattan Dispensary, under the management of J. Ernest Perring. The programme was nicely selected and well rendered by the following distinguished artists: [lists performers]. The above artists are very well known to the public, with the exception of Miss Hotchkiss, this being her first appearance in concert. Her voice is a full, high soprano, powerful, yet very sweet, and we bespeak for her a brilliant future. She was warmly applauded and encored. The other artists have reputations which need no comment.”
